Friday, December 16th at 8pm- Memories from the Happy House

If PeeWee’s Playhouse hosted a comedy show on Acid directed by David Lynch starring NYC/LA comedy druglords, then it would probably be called “Memories from the Happy House” and guess what?  It is called that.

For exactly one hour you will step into a time machine that doesn’t exist and be transported to a warehouse in the middle of your brain where escaped mental patients are putting on a live animated non-animated brain-show called “Memories from the Happy House”. The patients are so mental, they aren’t even mental patients. In fact they are doctors or clowns or magicians or politicians or maybe they were even soul savers. Either way, why wouldn’t you Bee Hive for this show and step into a painting by the famous Captain Charlie? You will, if you want to know all the secrets. With Kate BerlantJared LoganScott MoranRory Scovel, and some surprise noises too!!!

Monday, December 19th at 8pm- Huckleberry Finn {The Robotic Edition} Book Release Party

Diani and Devine present an evening of Bluegrass, whiskey, and classic literature altered to include robots featuring LIVE MUSIC from The Dustbowl Cavliers, FREE COCKTAILS courtesy of Big Bottom Whiskey, robot art from Day of the Robot, and Luna the World’s First Personal Robot! Special Appearance by The Wien Truck.

About the book:
Mark Twain’s classic text has been a lightning rod for controversy since its first publication in the late nineteenth century, and has consistently been one of the most banned books in schools and libraries across the United States. In an effort to fight the censorship of this iconic piece of literature, editors Gabriel Diani and Etta Devine have removed every instance of the word “n-word” and replaced it with the word “robot.” Complete and unabridged (except for bits here and there), with E.W. Kemble’s original illustrations painstakingly altered by artist Denise Devine to include robots, this bold new edition makes Twain’s timeless work accessible to a whole new generation of readers … without being bogged down by what he wanted to say about racism.
